You to Can Have a Creative Life
So you keep telling yourself, that you’re not very creative, you’re not an “artist,” and don’t posse the “gift.” But the truth is, we all have that gift, each of us has our own way of showcasing it. Need some inspiration? Here is an awesome website that offers great blogs on topics like creativity and more, ladies and gents I present to you, Brain Pickings. I came across a particular blog titled, “Five Manifestos for the Creative Life.” The article offered varies manifestos that can help spark a creative light bulb.
My favorite manifesto amongst the five was by the one created by company Holstee. They did theirs in a form of a poster. Here is an excerpt quote that resided within their manifesto, “This is your life. Do what you love, and do it often. If you don’t like something, change it. If you don’t like your job, quit. If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love.”
This is your life, and you can make it a creative one. One of the killers of inspiration is self-doubt; knock that beast out of the ring! Aspire and inspire, this can be achieved creatively, and passionately. I mentioned in one of my earlier blogs that inspiration is a key ingredient for creativity; the second is passion. What are you passionate about? Here is this week’s impromptu idea: Check out the rest of the manifesto’s listed on the Brain Pickings website and select the one that sticks out to you the most. Use it to create a new creative project for yourself.
“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching, Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening, And live like it's heaven on earth.”
